Friends of St. Augustine (formerly Augustinian Friends) is a spiritual lay community who seek a deeper and more intimate relationship with God. We come together in hospitality and friendship as St. Augustine did with his community. We open our hearts to share what we love about our faith and discuss how God dwells in us and in our everyday lives. We seek guidance through readings by St. Augustine and Holy Scripture. St. Augustine believed deeply in community and sharing, following in his tradition of community each of the members prepare a part of the meal that we share at the end of our discussion. We enjoy the occasional uplifting movie, and have the pleasure of a teaching from one of our own Augustinian Friars. During the Christmas season we donate gifts to local children who are less fortunate.
Living in a society that has become disconnect to each other and connected to our electronic devices doesn’t bring us closer to our Lord it separates us. Participating in Friends of St. Augustine is a wonderful way to stay connected to each other and to God.
We meet once a month on a Sunday afternoon from fall until May in the OLGC Friary refectory. Please look for announcements in the parish bulletin, or come back to this site soon when the schedule for this year is posted. All are welcome.
